About CHOC

Since opening its doors in 2007, CHOC has provided day-time shelter for thousands of people experiencing homelessness, with emphasis on helping chronically homeless individuals start on a path to permanent housing and a better life. CHOC offers a calm, non-threatening environment for homeless adults to:

  • Rest

  • Shower

  • Launder clothing

  • Make phone calls

  • Receive mail

  • Connect with housing, health care, job training and a wide range of other services.

By meeting basic hygiene needs and connecting clients with existing service providers, CHOC serves as a primary point of entry for chronically homeless people to gain access to the help they need.

CHOC is a unique, cost-effective partnership created by Tabor Community Services, Water Street Mission, and the Interagency Council for the Homeless.

CHOC Core Values
Collaboration with service organizations to assure coordination that enables homeless persons to access needed services.
Responsiveness to service gaps pertaining to homeless persons accessing services in Lancaster.
Hospitality to all homeless persons by creating inviting, helpful, and safe interactions.
